calling all creative types

We just found out that there is a family from Florida traveling to Ethiopia in about 3 weeks.  They’ll be going to the same house where Bruk is staying!  Even though we can’t ask them to take pictures we will likely be able to send a “care-package” with them.  Can you help us think of some creative ways to show this little guy that we love him without making that family carry a huge box?  We don’t really know yet what an almost 1year old boy might like to look at/play with.  Of course, we will probably send him at least a picture of “mommy and daddy” but there must be more clever ideas out there.  So what do you think?

Also, lots of people have been asking to see our adoption story video from Silent Auction.  Well, we are happy to say that it’s almost ready.  If you check back on Monday [June 25th] we will post a link where you can watch the whole thing!

Thanks for checking in on us!

Hot wheels, dino’s, robots, a stuffed animal that means something to you. Jonathan carries around a stuffed dog I had as a kid. And what a cool story it could lend itself too as he gets older.
I’m so excited for you guys. You’ll be awesome parents!

Hey guys, I am so excited for you!! Here are a couple of ideas that I can think of… Get a small baby blanket and sleep with it until you have to pack it to send away. That way it will have your sent on it. When he sleeps with it, your sent will become calming and soothing. That way when you get him it will be familiar and relaxing. Another thing you can do is send a voice recorder and record lullabies and kids songs so he will get used to the sound of your voices. My girls would calm down every time I sung to them. Also it helps them start learning how to talk and learn new words. I hope this helps at least a little. Can’t wait to hear more about you Adoption Adventure!! Smile Warm Fuzzies!! 🙂
